Facebook Jobs GONE

Writer's picture: Vadis AgardVadis Agard

So many micro and small (also large) business owners used Facebook jobs to source candidates for jobs.

Super convenient for job seekers and it help recruiters (business owners) to fill positions without paying out premium fees to job boards, recruiting and advertising agencies, also print media and digital media.

The release published on their site states:

The Jobs on Facebook product is changing on February 22, 2022.

What's changing

  • Existing Facebook Groups with a “Jobs” group type will be changed to the “General” group type and the “Jobs” group type will no longer be available.

  • The ability to distribute free jobs via a partner integration with the Jobs on Facebook API will no longer be available.

  • Jobs on Facebook will no longer be available on the Facebook Lite app or Facebook mobile website (m.facebook.com/jobs) for both employers and seekers.

  • The Jobs on Facebook browser will no longer be available.

  • Jobs on Facebook is shutting down outside of the United States and Canada.

What is the alternative after February 22, 2022... in Barbados, we can utilize the job groups and our own social media pages (personal and business). We can also contact the the Barbados Employment and Career Counseling Services at (246) 535-1535 or email beccsjobs@labour.gov.bb. They normally have some candidates registered with them and they can also contact those in their database to alert them of your vacancy.

I will continue to look at for other options and place them in a post that will be updated with any new options.
